of taking your chances at winning lots of money, www.bet-o-meter.com
is guaranteed to provide you non-stop excitement all year-round
through its wide variety of sports and impressive wagering options.
To help you get familiar with different wager types, we've also
created this handy online "betting guide" with a description
of the different wagers that our site offers to help you make better
betting choices.
Straight Wagers: A Straight
Wager is a single bet on one outcome. Straight wagers are available
on head-to-head match ups with the following: Money Lines, Point
Spreads, and Totals.
Futures & Propositions: Future and Proposition Wagers are based
on the outcome of events that happen each year. All future wagers
are considered final. There will be no pay-outs until the conclusion
of the specified season. Odds change daily and all wagers are considered
action at the odds quoted at the time of the wager.
Buying Points:
It is permissible to move a point spread up to 3 points in your
favor. The rules for buying points are as follows:
1/2 point - you lay 120/100
1 point - you lay 130/100
1 1/2 points - you lay 140/100
2 points - you lay 160/100
3 points - you lay 170/100
Note: when buying on, off or
through 3 in football, there is an additional 25% charge.
Prop Betting:
A prop or proposition bet is a wager with 2 or more outcomes that
are not directly related to the final score of an event. One notable
characteristic of props is that they are rarely allowed to be placed
in any type of combo bet. Bets such as these are also called exotics.
Most featured props are usually single bets only. A common entry
in Prop Bets is a Field entry. This is a catch-all category for
any competitor not specifically listed in the prop, but is competing
in the event. If any of the players in the Field win, the Field
would be declared the winner for wagering purposes.
Parlays:
A parlay is a combination of two or more straight bets combined
together to make one wager. Different sports may be combined for
a multi-sport same parlay. If all teams in the parlay win, the parlay
is a winning bet. If any team included in the parlay loses, the
parlay is a losing bet. If a team in the parlay ties or is "no
action," the parlays number of teams is reduced by one; a tie
on a two team parlay becomes a straight bet.
Teasers:
A Point Teaser is a bet on more than one team or outcome that allows
you to take points on each game within your wager. The number of
teams selected and the number of points selected determines the
payout odds. If there is any loss in a teaser, the entire teaser
results in a loss. Otherwise, if the teaser contains a push, no
action, or tie, the teaser will revert to the next amount of teams,
paying the odds of the new teaser. In the case of a two-team teaser,
if there is a push, no action or tie, the wager will be refunded.
A teaser can only be played in football and basketball.
Special Teasers:
The term "Special Teasers" can be used for Sweetheart
teasers which are used for both basketball and football, where you
have the choice of incorporating either 3 or 4 picks (teams). Instead
of the regular points, you may tease football by 10 (3 team) and
13 (4 team) points and basketball by 8 (3 team) and 10 (4 team)
points. The payout in a 3 team sweetheart teaser is 10/11 and the
payout in a 4 team sweetheart teaser is 5/6. A push in a sweetheart
teaser is a loss. Sweetheart teasers never reduce. There are no
Sweetheart Teasers for baseball.
Action Points:
Action points are the most profitable wager offered by our site.
With this wager, you can limit your losses and maximize you winnings.
You will have the power to increase your winnings every time your
team scores. Action points are specifically available for football
and basketball. It's meant for those bettors who not only can predict
which team will win the game, but by how many points. For an Action
Points bet, you've to risk $110 for every $100 wagered.
If Bets & Reverses:
If Bets is the type of bet that allows you better wager management
by placing multiple bets by preference that are conditional on the
outcome of the preceding bet within the If Bet sequence. If Bets
allow you to leverage your bet with preference given to the events
you believe have more predictable outcomes. You risk only the original
wager amount and can choose the event priority sequence regardless
of the date of the event.
A reverse is a series of IF Bets going both forward and in "reverse"
order. Each team included in the Reverse will pair with another
team to form two IF bets, one with that team first and another with
that team as the second team in the IF. Each bet in the reverse
is an individual straight wager for the full amount of the reverse.
All bets in the Reverse are bet with the condition "If, win
only" meaning the next bet will only be placed if the previous
one wins (ties or cancellations will void all subsequent bets).
