Slot Tournaments

Online slot tournaments have become immensely popular over the past few years as they offer excitement and big cash prizes for the top three winners. A prize structure of $25,000 for first, $10,000 for second and $5,000 for place finishers is not unusual in these tournaments. These tournaments are played with the help of online slot machines.

All the video machines used in an online slot tournament are of the same type and are usually fitted with special programs that generate many more jackpot combinations than what one can normally expect. This allows the accumulation of much greater point totals, adding to the excitement of the activity.

Most slot tournaments are divided into sessions, each session lasting for a predetermined length of time, normally 15 or 20 minutes. The slot machines start with a predetermined number of credits. The object is to use up all the credits and rack up as many points as possible in the allotted time frame.

A common format is to give each player 1,000 credits with 20 minutes to play them. Each time you hit the spin button, the amount of credits for a maximum bet (usually three credits) are deducted from your starting credits. Any credits you win are shown on a separate meter. You do not get to replay any credits that you win.

When your time is up, the machine will lock up and play is over. Any credits that you have not played will be lost. This is why you will see people furiously hitting the spin button - they're trying to use up every credit on the machine as quickly as possible. After you finish playing, you wait at your machine until the official comes by and records your score.

The objective of slot tournament is to use up all the credits and/or rack up as many points as possible in the allotted time frame. The top prize goes to the participant who comes in with the highest point total for the entire slot tournament.

Slot tournaments are not like normal slot play. Instead of trying to win money from the machines, you play for points. You want to accumulate more points than any of the other people who participate in the slot tournament. The slots are adjusted for play without money therefore your risk is very limited.
