World Championship of Online Poker On Again At Pokerstars
Aug 07, 2006
The 5th annual World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has just
been announced at PokerStars.com. The largest online poker tournament
is about to get bigger with a massive $10 million guaranteed...
This year's tournament series at Pokerstars.com is the biggest yet,
and will consist of a total of 18 events that will include two separate
HORSE events, Razz and, back by popular demand, Pot Limit Omaha-8.
The biggest of the two HORSE events will have a $5,200 buy-in and
will be hosted by the newest member of Team PokerStars.com, Barry
Greenstein. Greenstein is undoubtedly one of the finest and most
successful poker players the world has ever seen.
The total prize pool for the 2006 WCOOP will be $10,000,000 guaranteed
in cash, with $3,000,000 of that going towards the main even alone.
Every online player has a chance to enter the WCOOP at Pokerstars
through both Cash and Frequent Player Point satellites that are
running every day. Satellites start at the smallest of buy-ins,
and to give everyone a shot, Pokerstars are putting up $1,500,000
in free entries to players through their loyalty program.
All the information on the 2006 WCOOP is available at the PokerStars.com
website. The event kicks off with the Razz tournament on September
16, and concludes on October 1 with the NL Hold'em main event.
